So recently I watched Pakdam Pakdai Ocean Attack movie too and this movie surprised me more than I expected. When most people think about Pakdam Pakdai they picture Doggy Don chasing Chhotu, Motu and Lambu around the house while the mice find creative ways to escape. That formula has worked for years. But stretch it across a full length movie and it can get repetitive very quickly.
This movie completely changes things. Instead of another house chase the whole story moves underwater. We get an ancient ocean kingdom, a villain who wants to flood the entire planet, shark armies, mysterious underwater guardians and a race to stop a global disaster. That is a massive jump from the usual Pakdam Pakdai setup and I was genuinely curious to see how it all played out. Let me walk you through everything.

Pakdam Pakdai Ocean Attack released on 20 December 2015 and originally premiered on Nickelodeon India. It later became one of the most frequently rebroadcast Pakdam Pakdai movies on channels like Sonic Nickelodeon and ETV Bal Bharat. The movie was produced by Suriya Thomas with executive production support from Toonz Media Group and Viacom18. It was directed by Ronojoy Chakraborty and Hari Varma and written by Nikhil Vyas and Venkatraman Subramaniam. Created by Toonz Media Group. Runtime of this movie is about 88 minutes which makes it one of the longer Pakdam Pakdai movies.
As always in the Hindi version Sourav Chakraborty voices most of the major characters using his famous Bollywood inspired impressions. Those voices are honestly one of the most memorable things about this franchise and they are just as fun here as they always are.
Ratings of the Movie
Similar to the previous Pakdam Pakdai movie I reviewed on this blog there are no verified ratings available on IMDb or other platforms for this one. The audience submission volume has simply been too low to generate any formal scores. But the fact that this movie keeps getting rebroadcast regularly on multiple channels tells you that the actual viewership response has been strong.
What Actually Happens in the Movie?
The story starts with Doggy Don, Colonel and the Chuha Party doing their usual thing before the whole group ends up visiting the coast to explore marine life. What begins as a fairly normal trip turns into a disaster very quickly. They get stranded in deep waters surrounded by dangerous ocean currents, hostile sea creatures and completely unfamiliar surroundings. Not great for a group of land animals.
Meanwhile deep beneath the ocean a powerful marine tyrant named Surmai Bhopali is putting his dangerous plan into motion. Alongside his aggressive general Barracuda he wants to take control of a legendary device called the Heart of the Ocean Motor. This machine is responsible for maintaining the balance of the world’s tides, temperatures and water levels. If Surmai gains complete control over it he can flood the entire planet, submerge all land and turn Earth into a world ruled entirely by sea creatures.
So just like that the usual dog versus mouse conflict becomes completely irrelevant. The future of the entire planet is now at stake and everyone realizes it.
As the adventure moves forward Doggy Don, Colonel, Chhotu, Motu and Lambu find themselves going deeper into the ocean than they ever imagined possible. Being land animals creates immediate problems. Underwater pressure, breathing limitations and violent ocean currents that have been destabilized by Surmai’s machines all make the journey extremely difficult.
Along the way they pass through ancient underwater ruins and mysterious sea grottos guarded by legendary protectors named Boodha Baba and Manumaan. These locations give the underwater world a sense of history and mystery that makes it feel genuinely large and well built out.
Eventually they discover Surmai Bhopali’s massive underwater kingdom and mechanized fortress. The place is heavily protected with laser net grids, pressurized airlocks, mechanical crushing devices, armored crab battalions and schools of weaponized sharks led by Barracuda himself. It is a proper villain fortress and it looks impressive.
Things get worse when Surmai’s forces capture Chhotu, Motu and Lambu and imprison them inside the fortress. And here is where the movie creates one of its best moments. For perhaps the first time in the franchise Doggy Don’s mission is no longer about catching the mice. Now he has to rescue them. That role reversal is funny and satisfying at the same time.
Colonel also steps up in a big way during this section. In regular episodes he is mostly there to support Doggy Don but here he actively leads attacks against Barracuda and clears paths through waves of armored crab soldiers. Seeing him take on a proper hero role was a nice surprise.
The dogs and mice alliance becomes the emotional core of the movie from this point onward. Everyone understands that their personal rivalry does not matter anymore when the whole world is in danger and watching these characters actually work together properly creates some genuinely entertaining moments.
The heroes eventually get into the main chamber where the Heart of the Ocean Motor is located. It looks like victory is close. But then Barracuda activates a hidden fail safe system which pushes the machine into overdrive. Instead of a slow rise in sea levels the device now starts triggering a catastrophic global flood at an accelerated rate. So the final battle also becomes a race against time.
Colonel keeps the remaining guards busy while Doggy Don and the rescued mice work together to reach Surmai’s control systems. Through teamwork and quick thinking they manage to hijack the machinery and reverse the power flow throughout the entire fortress. Surmai’s own machines start malfunctioning and the operation collapses around him. In a satisfying moment both Surmai Bhopali and Barracuda end up trapped inside their own containment systems and get swept away into the deep ocean trenches.
The Heart of the Ocean Motor is secured. The flood is stopped. The oceans return to normal. Everything is saved.
What I Felt While Watching?
The ambition of this movie is genuinely impressive. Most Pakdam Pakdai stories are simple slapstick comedy and chase sequences. Ocean Attack tries something much bigger and for the most part it pulls it off. The underwater setting immediately gives the movie a different atmosphere and the ancient ruins, ocean guardians and mechanized fortress all help build a world that feels much larger than anything in the regular show.
Surmai Bhopali is a stronger villain than I expected. His plan to flood the entire planet rather than just cause trouble in one town makes him feel genuinely dangerous. That bigger threat level is what makes the dogs and mice alliance feel necessary and earned rather than forced.
The role reversal where Doggy Don has to rescue the mice instead of chasing them is probably my favorite story decision in the whole film. It flips the usual dynamic in a way that is funny and clever and gives the characters a completely new kind of interaction to work through.
Colonel getting a proper hero role is also very welcome. He is usually overshadowed by Doggy Don but here he contributes in a meaningful way and the movie is better for it.
My honest criticism is that some of the world building moves too fast. The underwater kingdom, Boodha Baba, Manumaan and the ocean mythology are all interesting ideas but the movie does not spend enough time developing any of them. A slightly longer runtime or tighter focus on fewer locations would have helped these elements land more strongly.
But overall the movie stays entertaining and never loses its energy from beginning to end.
Should You Watch this Movie?
Yes definitely. If you enjoy Pakdam Pakdai this is one of the best movies in the franchise. The underwater adventure, the global stakes and the dogs and mice alliance make it feel genuinely fresh and different from the standard formula.
For kids it is a very fun watch with colorful underwater visuals, exciting action, a proper rescue mission and plenty of the comedy the franchise is known for. For older viewers who grew up with Pakdam Pakdai it is a satisfying watch that shows how ambitious the franchise was willing to get.
If you have already watched Pakdam Pakdai Doggy Don vs Billiman which I reviewed earlier on this blog then you will notice some similarities here. Both movies force the dogs and mice to team up against a bigger threat. But Ocean Attack feels bigger in scale and the underwater setting gives it a completely different atmosphere. Final Thoughts
Pakdam Pakdai Ocean Attack is one of the most ambitious and entertaining movies this franchise has produced. The underwater kingdom, ancient guardians, shark armies, global flood threat and the unexpected alliance between dogs and mice all come together to create an adventure that feels genuinely large and memorable. Some of the world building could have been explored more deeply but the movie never stops being fun and the role reversal of Doggy Don rescuing the mice is a story decision that pays off perfectly.
